Ascension St. Joseph recognizes extraordinary nurse

Daisy AwardTAWAS CITY, MI – Nurses at Ascension St. Joseph Hospital are honored with The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses®. The award is part of the DAISY Foundation's mission to recognize the extraordinary, compassionate nursing care they provide patients and families every day.    

Michelle White, RN, BSN, OCN, was recently presented with a DAISY award during an oncology department meeting. Michelle was nominated by co-worker, Samantha Travis, RN, BSN, OCN, for her dedication, patience and persistence. In her nomination, Samantha highlighted one instance of how Michelle went above and beyond to assist an oncology patient get the medication they needed. Moments like this truly highlight what an extraordinary nurse Michelle is by putting her patients above everything else.

Nurses may be nominated by patients, families and colleagues. The award recipient is chosen by a committee at Ascension St. Joseph Hospital. DAISY Awards are presented throughout the year at celebrations attended by the honoree’s colleagues, patients and visitors.
