Volley for a Cure Raised over $11,000 for Infusion Room Project

volley for cureAscension St. Joseph Foundation is proud to announce a generous donation of $11,462.34 from the  Oscoda Owls and Hale Eagles junior varsity and varsity volleyball teams from its annual Volley for a Cure event.  This past fall, the students and coaches joined together to raise awareness about breast cancer and collected vital donations to support the hospital’s breast cancer patient program.

Oscoda volleyball head coach Melissa Curley said “Volley for a Cure is a special night.”  Former OHS varsity volleyball coach Laura Franklin decided several years ago to honor her mother, Diana Pippin, who passed away from breast cancer in 2015 by donating the proceeds to Seton Cancer Institute at Ascension St. Joseph Hospital to be used for the infusion room. The infusion room will undergo a major renovation in the fall of 2020.  This donation is timely and will help make the space more comfortable for patients receiving treatment. Ascension St. Joseph Foundation would like to thank our community and beyond for the generous support of the hospital’s oncology program.
